November 15, 2013 – Tudor watch won the “Revival” Prize in the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève for the first time with Black Bay series.

The 1958 watch launched this year is actually a small subdivision of the Black Bay series. It is derived from the 1958 diving watch Ref.7924 in the brand history. And it is still a retro route.
Tudor Black Bay 1958 is a classic copy or innovation product
The previous Black Bay series has two generations. The first generation is equipped with an ETA movement, which is combined with a rose Logo and metal strip (optional). While the second generation was replaced by the Tudor self-produced movement, and it was certified by the COSC Observatory. The watch has a shield logo and retro nail strap (optional).
Although the two generations received rave reviews, there is a very obvious problem: the case is too thick.
Due to the innovation of movement technology, the Black Bay 1958 series not only reduces the diameter of the case to 39 mm, but also reduces the thickness to 11.9 mm. And the Tudor switched to the smaller, thinner movement MT5402 that is a brand new self-produced movement with 70-hour power reserve.

This year, Black Bay 1958 replaced the original rose logo of the crown with a three-dimensional relief, which is more retro. the driving outer ring with golden color scheme echoes the font of the dial that caters to the willingness of the watch-fans “loyal to the original”.
Without the large crown of the Ref.7924, the crown of Black Bay 1958 became a regular size ratio, making the watch-friends a little regret. However, the thickness of the case was adjusted, and the golden scale outer ring was replaced to make the watch more beautiful and comfortable to wear. None of these changes have disappointed consumers.
